The function keys (F1, etc.) have special uses in AutoCAD:
- F1 - Help
- F2 - Text Window
- F3 - OSNAP
- F4 - Tablet
- F5 - Isoplane
- F6 - Coordinates
- F7 - GRID
- F8 - ORTHO
- F9 - SNAP
- F10 - POLAR
- F11 - OTRACK
- F12 - Dynamic Input
Not all of the default buttons are useful for every setup, but they all provide a quick way to toggle the functions on and off.
